Our website features fish primarily caught around Tanjung Leman in Johor, Malaysia, facing the South China Sea. Located in the Central Indo-Pacific basin, Malaysia represents one of the most spectacular and richest marine species habitats in the world. The region boasts over 75% of the world’s reef-building coral species, around 75% of global mangrove species, and more than 45% of seagrass species, supporting a diverse array of marine life. Malaysia alone is home to approximately 2,250 different fish species, both marine and freshwater.
The fish images on our site are fresh catches, mostly photographed at sea or at the jetty. We organized our listings according to the original International Standard Statistical Classification of Aquatic Animals and Plants and include common names in various languages and dialects from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
